A small Christmas potluck party for 2021! I had my best friends come over and had so much fun. If it weren’t covid we could have had a different Christmas.
Hitsumabushi style is good for having unagi when it’s cold because you can make soup with the donburi as you have it.
One of our favorite home menu, tonkatsu! It smells so oily after cooking but to have tonkatsu it’s the smell we want kinda lol
Salmon is quite expensive in Japan. It’s relatively cheap in the US but sold in huge chunks I can’t really dare buy sometimes because I’m not a huge fan of fish. However, if salmon is sold with a sign of ‘for sushi/sushi grade’ it’s expensive …
Wanted to have warm soup too so I made jjimdak adding more water like soup. Instant pot makes the meat so tender I can’t live without it.
I like the part that I can purchase many kinds of olive oils and olives in the US. More variety of imported goods from Europe are found in the US than in Asian countries.
