Niagara-Toronto-Pittsburgh (4. Pittsburgh)

The things I liked about this hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh Downtown, is that it is located in the city center easy to go around and they have a lounge/breakfast buffet place/other common facilities on the top floor so you can enjoy the view while being there.

The breakfast buffet food was not bad except that they didn’t have vegetables but fruits only.

The omelets custom-made at the counter were good.

Had ramen at Yuzu kitchen on the night we arrived in Pittsburgh and it was pretty salty but tasty.

Heinz museum.

The parking lot right in front gets quickly filled up around there so it’s better to be there as early as you can. We got there before noon and only a few spots were left.

The museum wasn’t exactly about Heintz. Things related to Heintz/the sauce were only a small portion with some souvenirs sold at the shop.

Every single bit of Pittsburgh-related things is displayed kind of.

The well-known Heinz ketchup bottle figure is a good photo zone.

I tried Jake’s shake(chocolate shake with hot fudge, cookies & cream, and brownies, topped with whipped cream and a chocolate “59”) at the Milkshake factory. It was very sweet and cool good for people who have a sweet tooth.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a must-go place for art and plant lovers.

Just be careful not to get yourself drained on sunny summer days because the glass domes are very much heated without much cooling system inside and you can sweat and get tired.

It took about a few hours to look around and enjoy this place.

The display theme of the Phipps this time was Monet’s art.

How they brought Monet’s pictures to reality with the plants together was beautiful.

They even constructed a small ship that Monet drew.

I wanted to try the Red Lobster place once since I always saw it when I was passing by a place I often go to. And the chance came on our way back. We got hungry.

All food and the staff were nice and the cheddar bay biscuits we had were warm spongy tasty.

We’d been to an observatory once already on this trip and were running out of time, and being tired we skipped the Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh. I would recommend it if you have enough time to stay in Pittsburgh.

Overall, central Pittsburgh was a relatively quiet neat city and I’m glad I visited Phipps.

We came home over midnight.

It was a long way drive and the roads didn’t really have lights when driving at night so I felt it so dangerous.

We were exhausted and fell asleep like babies when we got home.
