Harpers Ferry and Greenbrier State Park

It was a really hot day, I dropped by many historical museums/buildings to cool myself down, had ice cream from a cafe.
There are many historical place museums in Harpers Ferry.
Some people were drifting on big floating tubes down the Potomac River. A walk on the Winchester and Potomac Railroad Bridge is a must if you got to Harpers Ferry.
Picturesque Greenbrier State Park. Green meadows, white sands, and the lake. Bring a picnic mat, food, beach chairs and it’s perfect.

Greenbrier State Park, you need to be there as early as possible to get in because during the peak season there’s a capacity limit to the park and they block the access road if it gets too crowded.

We arrived there before noon but were told by the park staff(not sure if they were police officers) that we can’t go pass the road and they’ll announce it online if it gets less crowded so we can come back and try getting in again.

So we went to Harper’s Ferry that’s not far from the Greenbrier Park and enjoyed our time there until we got to see the reopen announcement of the Park in the afternoon.

Harper’s Ferry is a good place to visit, you can see some old American life through historical museums and buildings.

The view of the Potomac River was beautiful. You can swim or go canoeing from Harper’s Ferry, too.

We were able to get to the Greenbrier State Park around 4pm. It was worth the wait.

I had such a good time relaxing on the beach and swiming in the lake. Stayed there until the last minute.

There’s a shower room but it was too crowded and didn’t want to wait in the long line so I just used the shower poles outside to simply just rinse out and leave.

If I have chance to visit next time, I’ll definitely go before the opening time, try getting a table by the BBQ area, and bring a parasol.
